Michelle Zeller, PsyD, ABPP/CN

Certified Neuropsychology was founded by Michelle Zeller, Psy.D., ABPP/CN in January 2016. With over fifteen years of experience in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and several years of consultation within a forensic setting, Dr. Zeller’s experience ranges from working with veterans with cognitive impairment secondary to stroke and traumatic brain injury, to claimants seeking disability compensation.

A native of Western Massachusetts, Dr. Zeller moved to Los Angeles in 1997 after earning her bachelor’s degree from Boston College in 1997. In 2000, Dr. Zeller earned her master’s degree in psychology from Pepperdine University. She completed an APA-Accredited internship at the West Los Angeles VA. Dr. Zeller was awarded her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in 2004. In 2005, she became a licensed psychologist in the state of California (PSY# 20608). Dr. Zeller completed a two-year postdoctoral residency at UCLA’s Neuropsychiatric Institute in Geriatric Neuropsychology in 2006. In 2012, Dr. Zeller earned national board certification from the American Board of Professional Psychology in Clinical Neuropsychology (Diplomate #7152).

In 2006, Dr. Zeller was hired at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, our country’s largest veteran’s hospital. She is the primary psychologist on the inpatient Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Unit. Here, she conducts cognitive evaluations, provides individual supportive therapy and leads stroke and amputation support groups. She serves as a clinical supervisor to trainees at the preintern, intern, and resident levels.

In 2009, Dr. Zeller began serving as a consultant in forensic settings. She worked for the Los Angeles Neuropsychology Group for two years, conducting evaluations related to disability compensation. Dr. Zeller was then recruited by Barrington Psychiatric Center in 2013, where she consulted on similar cases for the next three years.  In 2016, Dr. Zeller was appointed as an expert witness in Neuropsychology by the Superior Court of Los Angeles County.  In 2017, she became a Qualified Baseline Assessment Program (BAP) Provider, conducting assessments with retired NFL players as part of the NFL Concussion Settlement.  At present, Dr. Zeller is retained by private law firms or third parties requesting independent medical examinations.
